Working With What You Have

Working With What You Have

Is your wedding day fast approaching and, all of sudden, you realize there is not enough time to grow your hair out in the length that supports the style you have always dreamed of? If so, no worry as there are ways to work with that, or around it, to achieve the look you have dreamed of for your wedding day.

classic bob wedding hair

The precision cut bob is a classic style that you probably see all around you all the time. If this is your look, then individually tailoring it for your day has many options in ways to create a sleek and sophisticated look. Blow dry the hair straight, then flat iron the sections for a uniform look. This style wears a mini veil quite well, lending itself to the style of hair in a gracious manner. You can also create a high end look by parting your hair with a beautiful pin. Air dry your hair and take your brush to lift the roots of your bangs, and bring to the side. Tuck your side hair behind your ears. Define the part on the side with the pin of your choice. This is a beautiful alternative to a head band or an elaborate veil. The simple veil of your choice will complete the look.

wedding hair braid extensions

Wish your shoulder length hair was longer? It will take a stylist to get it right, but the look should be considered and tried if it’s something you have dreamed of. Easy to achieve with hair extensions, a braided extension blends in beautifully with your hair and your day. Begin with an off centered pony tail at the nape of your neck, attach the braided extension to your hair, and then coil tightly around the base and secure with bobby pins that match the color of your hair.

If your hair is past your shoulders, you may consider glamming it up with a sculptured look. Always vogue, it’s a look you can do yourself. A bit more volume on top is what you are going for with a bit of volume added to the curls that will come down in front of your shoulders. A medium barrel curling iron will create the right curl. On top, you will want to tease for additional height and then a holding spray will lock the style in place.

wedding upsweep hairstyle

Another look for long hair is known as the upsweep. Gathered at the top back of your head in a ponytail, you can then let it cascade down, and style to your heart’s content. Dainty flowers, beautiful hair pins holding sections to the crown, then loosened up to accommodate the weave of the flowers. Spray hair in place before any flowers are added.

If you have length and wish for a more modern look, try this one. Tease at the crown to create volume and then finish with a classic Chignon. Create a loop by making a low pony tail and tucking the ends under. Leave a section to wrap around and hide the elastic band. Secure with pins and wear a wonderful headband to pop the look.
